Qualifications:
We are currently looking for an editorial researcher to join our highly-regarded fact checking team.
The ideal candidate would be a college graduate (graduate credits preferred) with solid research skills, a strong attention to detail as well as a passion for quality.
Previous experience as a fact checker, editorial researcher or researcher is required as well as demonstrated writing experience (published) for a magazine, newspaper or web publication.
Experience in gathering information by telephone, from libraries, and online also required.
Candidates with a background or knowledge in health sciences and/or an interest in consumer products, finance and the consumer marketplace are encouraged to apply.
Editorial research team members must be able to translate complex statistical and technical data and be able to work independently.
Candidates must be able to work under rigid deadline pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.

Physical Demands:
Normal physical requirements associated with working in an office environment such as prolonged sitting, repetitive motion such as typing on a computer keyboard, etc.
Responsibilities:
Fact-checks reports for Consumer Reports, Special Publications, and other information products.
Performs work on research projects.
Works on additional Editorial projects as necessary.
May include writing original text of less than 1,000 words per month, and assists in organizing other editorial publications.
When necessary, performs other activities of the department, but not those of a higher group level.
