Location: Candidate must reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire or Rhode Island.

The Regional Sales Engineer (RSE) is responsible for identifying sales opportunities and closing EM/XRM orders within the designated region. To succeed in this role, the RSE must have a strong understanding of customer needs and be able to match a solution within our EM/XRM portfolio. Additionally, the RSE must have a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape, excellent time management skills, negotiation skills and strong technical knowledge of the products. Overall, the RSE plays a critical role in driving sales growth and ensuring customer satisfaction, making this a dynamic and challenging position for a motivated and skilled individual.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Achieve sales targets: Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals by implementing effective strategies and maintaining a strong pipeline.
  • Forecasting and reporting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts, maintain written sales opportunities progress and sales activities report.
  • Develop customer relationships: Establish and maintain strong connections with key customers, addressing their specific needs and pain points.
  • Analyze market trends: Monitor competitor activities and industry developments to identify new opportunities and potential threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with local marketing, applications, and customer service to meet customer needs and develop new opportunities.
  • Attend industry events: Participate in trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote the company's products and expand your target base.
  • Enhance technology / product knowledge: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in microscopy technology to effectively communicate benefits and features to customers.
  • Cultivate industry contacts: Establish connections with professionals, influencers, and potential partners to increase referral opportunities.
  • Embrace continuous learning: Seek professional development opportunities to enhance sales skills and stay informed about market trends.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs: Actively listen to customers and prospects, ask probing questions, and tailor your sales pitch to address their specific pain points and requirements.
  • Adapt to different sales scenarios: Demonstrate flexibility in your sales approach and adapt your communication style to suit different client personalities and preferences.
  • Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks: Allocate sufficient time to prospecting, account management, and administrative tasks to ensure consistent progress toward sales goals. This is especially important for a remote position.

Do you qualify?

  • Must have experience in capital equipment sales, needs-based solutions.
  • Must have knowledge of the microscopy market, applications, equipment, customers' needs, competitive landscape, and technologies preferred.
  • Prior experience in technical sales preferred.
  • Must have prior experience in remote work.
  • Working knowledge of high-end microscopy, including electron, laser scanning, and light microscopy, and imaging techniques preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and teamwork.
  • Ability in problem-solving and negotiation.
  • BSc/BA in business administration or in Materials Sciences or Engineering preferred.

Working Environment:

  • Travel (domestic) totaling at up to 50%.
