Under the direction of the Director of Engineering / Manager, this position performs a variety of diversified duties primarily in facility maintenance in the areas of bed and rolling stock repairs performs medical gas inspections and repairs. Maintain a working knowledge of building components and State, local fire codes including JCAHO requirements in order to facilitate the efficient planning and execution of all maintenance and projects knowledge. Will perform a variety of diversified duties as needed primarily in facility maintenance, performs various maintenance assignments and assists other maintenance personnel in the repair and maintenance of physical structures, equipment and fixtures of the hospital. Ground keeping duties and maintain hospital aesthetics.

Responsibilities

  • 1. RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • 1.1 Maintains a preventive maintenance program throughout the hospital complex on patient room's.
  • 2. RESPONSIBILITIES/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • 2.1 Collaborates with maintenance department personnel to solicit expertise of required crafts necessary to complete assigned projects. Assists other trades as required. Performs visual inspections of facility during daily schedule for problems. Will take initiative to perform corrective action or submit corrective work order. Assists with snow removal, as necessary.
  • 3. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
    • 3.1 Reports to Engineering Manager any violation of OSHA Regulations.
  • 4. SAFETY
    • 4.1 Assure the safety of patients, staff and visitors through enforcement of department safety policies and procedures. a. Adheres to safety requirements when performing job using the following safety equipment: 1. Safety Eye glasses 2. Dust Mask 3. Surgical Mask 4. Gowns 5. Back supports
  • 5. ADDITIONAL TASKS:
    • 5.1 Performs any additional assignments as required by the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years experience in trade or Hospital maintenance experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Interpret blueprint drawings and sketches. Design and fabricate. Ability to communicate and collaborate with all hospital personnel. Ability to direct, assign and motivate work groups. Successful completion of the following training courses (not limited to): 1. Fire Safety 2. Bloodborne Pathogens 3. Right-To-Know 4. Chemical Hygiene 5. Infectious Control

PHYSICAL DEMAND
