Job Description

Summary of Position

Utilize a collaborative process of education, assessment, planning and engagement to promote participants' adopting improved lifestyle behaviors that support achieving and maintaining optimal health status. Empower participants to develop the skills and confidence required to effectively self-manage their health and wellbeing. Act as a coach and mentor to staff to ensure understanding of health coaching process, motivational interviewing concepts
and documentation workflow to effectively manage participant wellbeing needs and WellSpark operations. Contribute, as needed, to the credentialing requirements and other responsibilities for WellSpark programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and digest available health data to identify areas of opportunity related to participant health and wellbeing, including establishing a goal-based collaborative plan of care to help realize improved quality of life and overall wellbeing as it relates to self-management behaviors and future cost avoidance.
  • Utilize variable skills to ensure maximum participant engagement in WellSpark programs, including providing coaching, information and support to empower participants use of MySpark Central and other behavior change tools.
  • Empower adoption of WellSpark technology across all populations and interventions.
  • Follow established program workflow and accurately document data into electronic platform(s) in a timely fashion.
  • Contribute to the organizational health of WellSpark by maximizing key factors including the realization of variable revenue, displaying the positive impact of coaching through meaningful future cost avoidance and encouraging ongoing engagement with WellSpark services.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to staff to ensure understanding of health coaching and motivational interviewing concepts and documentation workflow to effectively manage participant wellbeing needs and WellSpark operations.
  • Maintain current "state of the art", working knowledge of behavioral coaching interventions and use of technology within coaching through continuing education, community resources and publications.
  • Work collaboratively with coaching leadership to meet the expectations for caseload management, call productivity, program engagement, continual staff development and maintenance of goals.
  • Contribute, as needed, to the credentialing requirements for WellSpark programs.
  • Manage a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of participants and optimize program engagement rates, including participating at client specific activities, as needed. Perform telephonic outreach to engage identified populations.
  • Queue coverage with Customer Service may be required for portions of workday. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in health related field (e.g., Health Education, Wellness, Health Promotion, Nursing)
  • Health & Wellness Coach Certification (Required)
  • 4 - 6+ years of relevant, professional work experience, including coaching experience (Required)
  • Additional experience/specialized training may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Proven success in leadership roles (Preferred)
  • Experience with: health coaching across modalities (face to face, telephonic, digital, etc.); motivational interviewing, active
    listening skills, Transtheoretical Model, and other evidence-based coaching techniques (Required)
  • Ability to facilitate educational sessions, both in person and via technology modalities (Required)
  • Experience with wellness related areas such as stress, weight management, nutrition, physical activity or health lifestyle
    behavior change; and facilitating patient/client positive behavioral change (Required)
  • Effective communications skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal); ability to deliver content in an engaging way (Required)
  • Bilingual Spanish, simplified Chinese or other language skills (Preferred)
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.); online documentation platforms; and remote technology
    (Smartphone, wireless laptop, virtual conference tools, etc.) (Required)
  • Strong prioritizing, time management, organizational, and problem solving skills (Required)
  • Willingness and ability to accommodate flexible scheduling, including off shift hour; and travel to worksites, as needed (Required)
