Overview

The Coater Operator ensures scheduled orders are completed in accordance with specifications and procedures established by Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Engineering, while keeping safety, quality and production at or above set standards in a team environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

    High degree of manual dexterity
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to read length measurements, gauges and meters
  • Knowledge of production schedules
  • Basic math skills, computer skills, and data entry
  • Ability to follow work instructions, safety rules, and specifications with great attention to detail
  • May be required to obtain a tow-motor license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Continuous positioning and lifting 25 - 60 pounds
  • Ability to lift, bend, & stoop when required and stand for extended periods
  • Occasional heavy lifting up to 100 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The environment is typical of a manufacturing production atmosphere.

  • High noise levels in certain parts of the plant
  • Extreme heat during summer months
  • Required PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection

Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Utilize logbooks for issues that occur on shift
  • Perform quality and standard checks
  • Participate in die changes as scheduled
  • Complete appropriate data sheets as required
  • Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Follow "Red Tag" procedures if required
  • Maintain inventories needed for production run
  • Communicate and share knowledge with operators and coworkers
  • Make suggestions on reducing costs, improving safety, and/or improving product or process
