Management of aerospace direct & indirect commodity management for tier 1 suppliers
Negotiation of Long-Term Agreements (LTA's)
Facilitation, tracking, and recording of cost reduction activities across multiple sites
Management of Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) tooling contracts and revert metals contracts
Procurement of capital expenditures (CapEx) and services for facilities, equipment, and repairs
Execution and oversight of supplier transitions to qualified sources
Supporting the VP Global Supply Chain as required in negotiating, closing, and implementing contracts
Creation of direct and indirect regional and global commodity strategies
Leading logistics efforts and indirect procurement/logistics training of employees within the supply chain organization
Working closely with new and existing aerospace suppliers in support of global contract implementation
Supporting failure analysis and corrective action with suppliers to identify and resolve the root cause of the problem
Ensuring effective inventory management techniques are in place to maintain inventory accuracy, reduce carrying costs and increase inventory turns
Providing input and reviews technical documentation for Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotes (RFQ's) and technical contract issues
Maintaining a system of metrics to continually monitor measurable supplier performance
Between 15%-25% of travel may be required
Other duties may be assigned as necessary
Qualifications:
Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems is required
Supply chain experience such as Value Stream Mapping, Duty Collection/Drawback/Tax Reclaim, North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) is required
Global logistics and Small Business Liaison Office experience is preferred
Six Sigma, Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) or lean manufacturing (LEAN) experience preferred
Knowledge of Registration, Evaluation, Authorization & Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) preferred
American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and/or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (C.P.I.M.) training/certification is a plus
Ability to work well with people and situationally resolve problems and conflict.
Ability to oversee several simultaneous projects, delegating tasks as appropriate
Solid negotiation and benchmarking skills, and a proven record of progressive savings for the company
Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) as well as PowerPoint
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, as well as speak effectively before employees
Education Requirements:
* B.A. or B.S. degree or a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant industry experience
