Overview:

Loureiro Contractors, Inc. (LCI) is a Connecticut-based contractor with a broad range of experience in infrastructure development, environmental remediation, and demolition. Our in-house capabilities include site work; concrete construction; soil, groundwater, and sediment remediation; roadways; bridges; earth retaining systems; underground utilities; and UST removal and replacement.

We are searching for a knowledgeable and experienced Estimator for projects in the New England region. The Estimator is responsible for the accurate takeoff and pricing of the work, including all direct and indirect costs for heavy/civil/roadway/projects with values from $5 million to $200 million.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and estimate coordination meetings.
  • Assess scopes of work to assign crews (labor and equipment), productions, schedules, materials and subcontracting opportunities to compile and establish pricing to cover project-related work activities from project commencement to completion.
  • Accurately prepare direct and indirect cost estimates in HCSS Heavy Bid.
  • Receive and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes, identifying best value.
  • Create pre-bid project schedule to identify labor and equipment demands.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to a safety-oriented work culture within the company.
  • Promote workplace safety, encouraging safe work practices and ensuring compliance with safety policies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 8 years of estimating projects using HCSS Heavy Bid.
  • Knowledge of site excavation and utility construction, materials and methods.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly organized.
  • Familiar with Site Development and Heavy/Highway Construction.
