Risk & Compliance- Intern (NE-4)

OVERVIEW:

The internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for undergraduate students considering careers in the banking industry.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs any function necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and support in Compliance, Risk Management, and BSA. Knowledge of Word and Excel, as well as a general facility with technology, are musts.

The intern will complete the following tasks and/or work assignments as identified by the hiring manager:

  1. Review policies and procedures for alignment with regulatory or legal resources.
  2. Assist with research and distribution of regulatory updates.
  3. Assist with compliance reviews of bank website, social media sites, and advertising materials.
  4. Assist with complaint and identity theft red flag logging and analysis.
  5. Provide support for Business Continuity testing and plan updates.
  6. Assist with the vendor management related tasks.
  7. Assist with anti-money laundering program tasks.
  8. Assist with implementing Risk Management Program enhancements.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must:

  • Be a student in good standing with their college.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Have a sincere interest in learning more about the banking industry.
  • Having a willingness to provide outstanding customer service in all interactions with Bank customers.
  • Have successfully completed a background investigation.

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Refers specific problems to manager where clarification of policies and procedures is needed.

COMPLIANCE:

Responsible for adhering to bank policies and procedures relating to regulatory compliance requirements applicable to the job function including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Fair Lending.
