Overview

Job Description

The primary duties of this position entail:

    Onboarding New Hire Pipefitters
  • Instructing multiple Pipefitters courses in a classroom setting
    • Noise reduction, Blueprints, Non-nuclear Pipe fit up, Pipe-hanger installation, intro to grinding etc.
  • Instructing multiple General Trades classroom courses
    • Fall Protection, Fire Watch, Fire Prevention, Respirator etc.
  • Enforcing safety rules and regulations
  • Supporting various lesson plan updates and related activities
  • Assessing student performance and identifying noncompliance to policies, procedures and technique sheets
  • Supporting special training projects as required
  • Being available for overtime as needed
  • Being flexible to support training on all shifts as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of Pipefitter experience
  • Must have a strong history of procedural compliance and safe work practices
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups and be able to maintain control of a classroom
  • Must be comfortable assigning students training tasks and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Must be comfortable evaluating student progress
  • Must be able to easily adapt to changing responsibilities
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Preferred:

  • First class pipefitter is preferred
  • Prior Classroom/OJT instructing experience is preferred
  • Experience in successfully demonstrating the ability to impart knowledge to others is preferred
  • Experience in preparation of training materials is preferred
  • Experience with classroom lectures, hands-on training and associated written and practical exams is desirable
