This position reports to

Country Environmental Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and implement remedial strategy, redevelopment plans, and innovative solutions for a portfolio of remediation projects to achieve the desired cleanup goal.
  • Oversee external consultants and contractors working on behalf of the company and review quality of deliverables and performance.
  • Estimate project life-cycle costs, manage project budgets, and maintain financial forecasts and provisions in accordance with company policy.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders and coordinate regulatory agency correspondence.
  • Manage projects in accordance with the company's health & safety policies and assured safe work practices are upheld.
  • Assess and implement sustainable development practices within the project scope where applicable.
  • Advancement of the company's sustainability strategy and 2030 sustainability goals.
  • Support and advise regarding environmental regulatory compliance and environmental due-diligence related to mergers & acquisition and real estate matters.
  • Monitor new or emerging environmental legislation and develop communications and tools to support implementation at sites across the US (guidance documents, webinars, coaching of HSE professionals)
  • Support for regulatory required Environmental reporting programs TIER II, Form R, PFAS reporting, etc.
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, engineering, or science related fields and a minimum of 7-10 years of direct working experience in the field of environmental management and remediation; OR Master's degree and a minimum of 5 years of direct work experience in the field of environmental management and remediation.
  • Demonstrated environmental project management experience with a focus on groundwater remediation.
  • Experienced data evaluation and analytical skills preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership ability desired.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPR training with current 8-hour refresher a plus.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. product material legislation, including Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), California Prop-65, etc. would be helpful.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
