Overview

The Payload Launch Control and Onboard Trainers Engineering Department 440 applies highly diversified skills to produce weapon and payload launching electronics for US Navy nuclear submarines. The VIRGINIA (VA) Systems Integration Group is responsible for Payload Support Electronics System (PSES) project and task management, system engineering, requirement development and management, and system safety support. The PSES enables vertical and horizontal launch capability by integrating payload and torpedo tube control with the common weapon launcher electronics. In addition, the Payload Integration group performs systems engineering of tactical electronic control and indication systems for the integration of new and future payloads to VA Block V and forward ships. This position is for a System Engineering and Project Leadership role for focusing on future system development.

Position Responsibilities will include:

    Project management including to include technical, budget, and schedule management
  • Collaborating with multidiscipline stakeholders
  • Developing system concept of operations
  • Analyzing high-level requirements and documentation to define system and sub-subsystems requirements
  • Leading the integration of complex systems and components
  • Validating system functionality through hardware and software development efforts
  • Supporting system test verification activities
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in systems engineering, project engineering or mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • 4-12 years of related technical/engineering experience
  • Internal candidates must be outside of Operations (Casciano/Gabriel)

Preferred:

  • Experience relevant to job description including embedded control system design/analysis; systems architecture, design, and integration; test verification of hardware, software, and system requirements; and project management
  • Active (or Interim) Secret security clearance (minimum)
