SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, this position is responsible for the maintenance of the physical plant and its equipment. The incumbent must be observant to possible repairs in the facility and fix repairs quickly and effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • CNC machinery/ assembly equipment mechanical and electrical troubleshooting (mills, lathes, presses, custom assembly equipment related to business).
  • Tasks related to machine installation (air, electrical, hydraulic). This could include use of fork trucks and/or high lifts.
  • Supervised electrical installation.
  • Facility and production machinery repair and installation.
  • Janitorial duties as needed
  • Chemical maintenance on Clean-line.
  • Monitoring and testing machines.
  • Plumbing repairs, carpentry and general maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
  • Adheres to all safety rules and report questionable conditions to department supervisor.
  • Apply and recommend Lean practices.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge in the use and maintenance of machines and safety practices

Interpersonal skills to handle different internal personnel and to meet requirements and customer satisfaction

Problem-solving and trouble shooting skills function to determine and solve technical problems arising daily

Ability to meet deadlines for completion of tasks in a timely manner

KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS:

  • Unplanned/planned downtime
  • Workplace organization (5S)
  • Safety (closing of Near-Misses)
  • OSHA compliance (LOTO, PPE)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS:

  • High School education or equivalent, preferred.
  • Factory Certification on maintenance and repair job, preferred.
  • 4 years of hands-on experience in a maintenance position, required.
  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or industrial equipment service, preferred.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
